What can this treatment possibly do?
The non-surgical Square Jaw Reduction & Face Slimming procedure is aimed to contour the lower face without open surgery. It helps give the face a slim look, and reduces the "square jaw" look.
Generally, triangular and heart-shaped faces are considered delicate, while faces with increased lower volume are seen as “rude” in many cultures.
Lower facial contour is determined by, amongst others, the masseter muscle – which is the muscle found at the edge of the jaw, the chewing muscle. One of the causes of a square face is the presence of a prominent and big masseter muscle.
What medical technology or device does this treatment utilise and how it is done?
This treatment involves the injection of B’tx at the jaw region for to reduce the size of the masseter jaw muscles, hence reducing the appearance of a square jaw, and giving the patient the appearance of a smaller jaw and slimmer face.
In short, B'tx injection to the masseter muscles is effective in lower facial remodeling. The reduction of the jaw muscle leads to a smooth and slimmer appearance of the face. which gives patients the triangular or heart-shaped faces which they consider as delicate and feminine.
What are the likely results? Any side effects or downtime?

The non-sugical square jaw reduction and face slimming with B’tx injection is generally proven to be effective and reaches its maximum effect of facial thinning / slimming at approximately 12 weeks. Other research also found that maximum correction occurred at 1 to 2 months, and reinjection was required at 6 to 8 months.
Apart from the appearance of a smaller / narrower jaw, facial thinning / slimming, the improvement in the lower face may result in prominence of the cheek bones, which to some individuals may be an effect that is typically very desirable.
Facial volume remained reduced after 6 months, which may be from the fact that although the masseter muscle volume recovered to baseline (original pre-treatment) levels, the masseter muscles are not as big as before the B’tx injection treatment. Regaining the baseline muscle mass after attenuated contraction therefore takes longer than simply regaining function. It is therefore recommended that additional B’tx jaw reduction facial slimming treatment be done at a lower dose one to four times a year for maintenance
Side effects may include, bruising, mild swelling and pain on the injection site, all of them localized and transient.

This treatment has synergy and can be combined with?

B’tx injection into masseter muscle is a popular contemporary form of non-invasive lower face contouring. However, this procedure alone does not address the facial length deficiency in patients whose faces are broad and short.
In this regard, dermal chin filler injection can be combined with the B’tx face slimming jaw reduction injection as a simple minimally invasive technique to lengthen the face, for this purpose. The combined treatments can give the appearance of a longer, oval shaped face.
